About KBTV

KBTV is the only multicultural television station serving the growing Chinese, Slavic, Filipino, Vietnamese, Hmong and Southeast Asian communities of the greater Central Valley of California, including Sacramento, Stockton, Fresno, Hanford, Merced, Chico and Modesto. These communities comprise over 850,000 persons in the region. KBTV is based in the state’s capital, Sacramento California.

Coverage

KBTV reaches three designated market areas: the Sacramento, Fresno and Chico DMA’s. Our over the air signal on channel 8 covers the cities of Sacramento, Roseville, El Dorado Hills, Rancho Cordova and many others. KBTV has extensive cable coverage via Comcast cable, channel 238. The station’s cable penetration is 397,170 homes covering Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto, Lodi, Yuba City, Chico, Fresno, Merced and many other locales in the greater Central Valley of California.

Programming

The programs vary from Chinese dramas, sports and local news, Slavic music videos, local news and children’s programs, Hmong news, Indian entertainment, Vietnamese news and variety shows to news from the Philippines. Programming is produced locally as well acquired from the around the world. In the summer of 2006, KBTV received broadcast rights to the 2006 World Cup Soccer games in Korean and aired all games. Community Involvement

KBTV serves the Sacramento community not only with its unique blend of programming but also through community involvement with various non-profit organizations and leaders. The station sponsors major events such as the Lunar New Year Celebration, Pacific Rim Street Festival, Russian Spring Festival, Annual California State Fair, Yuba City Sikh Parade, and the Hmong New Year. Community involvement and participation also extends to promoting non-profit organizations by running public service announcements and upcoming events to strengthen and support these organizations.
